I haven’t heard Adele in a long while. I got reminded of her today though, so I went and put on “Someone like you” and it just hit me like a train. It managed to weave past all my defenses and the smoke and mirrors i sculpt on a daily basis and touch a side of me I forgot. It’s as delicate and beautiful as the first time I heard it, and I’m feeling so exposed and vulnerable.
The saddest thing in life are goodbyes. Ever since I was a child goodbyes were always the worst thing in life. The day I had to say goodbye to my grandpa as he boarded the plane back to Sri Lanka. The day our cat whitey passed away. The day my favorite grade three teacher moved away. The day I finished year six and moved onto high school. The day I had to say goodbye to high school and start University. Goodbyes are never good. I hate the fact that I made you my everything, I gave you everything until I had nothing left to give. Fuck the fairy tale bullshit and fuck you.
